Tracking the Domestic Carbon Emission Intensity of China’s Construction Industry: A Global Value Chain Perspective
نویسندگان
چکیده
China is the largest producer of carbon in world. China’s construction industry has received widespread attention recent years due to its environmental issues. However, little research been conducted investigate efficiency domestic part this industry. As foreign contribution beyond control, identification emissions necessary formulate effective policy interventions. Based on a multi-regional input‐output model, study attempts reduce statistical bias associated with international trade, thereby obtaining more accurate indicator emission intensity. This aims reveal change intensity during 2000–2014 and analyze reason behind it. The results show that, first, both constructed commonly used measures have exhibited decreasing trend over period. former consistently larger than latter. Moreover, difference first increased then suddenly decreased after particular year. Second, although shows gradually declining trend, it moved from second global rankings, implying that industry’s efficiency, while falling, lags other major economies. Third, structural decomposition changes direct production are leading causes decline In contrast, intermediate input structure led an increase addition, enormous gaps between selected countries mainly attributable structure. suggests needs promote high value-added output, optimize structure, improve energy efficiency.

Measuring China’s Domestic Technological Upgrading in the Global Value Chain
Less developed countries (LDCs) usually undertake technology-poor slices in the spatial hierarchy of global value chain (GVC). This paper proposes a measure for domestic technological contents (DTC) for LDCs in the GVC, and calculates the DTCs for China as a whole and Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces separately. Two findings emerge from the calculation: the DTC indexes of China and Jiangsu kept ...
متن کاملGlobal Supply Chain Management under Carbon Emission Trading Program Using Mixed Integer Programming and Genetic Algorithm
In this paper, the transportation problem under the carbon emission trading program ismodelled by mathematical programming and genetic algorithm. Since green supply chain issuesbecome important and new legislations are taken into account, carbon emissions costs are included inthe total costs of the supply chain. The optimisation model has the ability to minimise the total costsand provides the ...

In this study, an optimization model is proposed to design a Global Supply Chain (GSC) for a medical device manufacturer under disruption in the presence of pre-existing competitors and price inelasticity of demand. Therefore, static competition between the distributors’ facilities to more efficiently gain a further share in market of Economic Cooperation Organization trade agreement (ECOTA) is...

15 صفحه اولThe past, present and future of China's automotive industry: a value chain perspective
The economic growth and industrial development in China over the last decade has been of considerable interest to industry and policy-makers alike, and also been subject of many academic studies. Considerable research on the macro-economic growth and process of industrialisation, as well as the subsequent increase in the domestic demand has been reported. In case of the automotive industry, pre...
